Life is all about negotiation. We negotiate every day, from the time we wake up to when we go to bed. It is true to say that living is negotiating and that life is a series of negotiations. The people who are successful and happy in life are the people who have learned how to negotiate well. It’s sad that many people aren’t taught how to negotiate. As such, they waste a lot of their time on earth. What is NEGOTIATION

On this blog, I draw from cutting-edge research and practice in negotiation as well as from the best minds on negotiation over the past few centuries to help you negotiate effectively in your everyday life.

Simply put, negotiation is the act of back and forth communication aimed at reaching an agreement with others. Negotiation is bargaining. And it is a process. During a negotiation, two or more parties (each with its own goals, needs, and viewpoints) engage in a conversation. They seek to discover a common ground and reach an agreement to settle a matter of mutual concern or resolve a conflict.

If you are new to negotiation, you may think that it is limited to formal business dealings or board rooms. The reality is that negotiation is essential everywhere. We negotiate every day, all the time. We are always negotiating.

We negotiate with, ourselves, our spouses, our children, our parents, our employers, and our colleagues. Every interaction with another human being is a negotiation. Negotiation is ubiquitous. We are all negotiators, the question is: are we effective negotiators?

My challenge to you today is to consider investing some time in teaching yourself to become a more effective negotiator. You will experience transformation in every aspect of your life when you grow as a negotiator. Consider subscribing to my blog to continue receiving articles on negotiation.
