What does tuition-free mean?
Someone may ask, if one needs to pay an assessment fee to get a degree or certificate, what is tuition-free? Good question. Tuition-free means students receive free instruction. In other words, they don’t pay to take the classes. Every student at Servants University receives the lectures for free and has access to lessons, assignments, peer-to-peer learning, and peer-to-peer assessments. We recruit some of the best teachers in the world in each domain to create courses (usually as volunteers with a relatively small payment) and offer them free.
While free tuition and free instruction include all learning opportunities, it doesn’t include an assessment by an instructor, which is necessary if a student wants to earn college credit and graduate with a degree or certificate (of achievement). Students who take courses for personal enrichment can print a certificate of completion at the end of the course to show they completed that course. This is different from a certificate of achievement that happens when a teacher grades your work.
This approach allows us to provide free or tuition-free education to everyone who needs it. Those who want official certificates and degrees at the end of their training apply for admission and pay the very small assessment fees. This assessment fee enables us to pay the instructors who do the grading and support general university operations needed to serve certificate and degree desiring students.
