The Daughter of VirtueIn her, virtue finds a face.
Her fame goes many leagues abroad.
She reckons that virtue is the way of her Father,
She treads it. She does not tire.

She knows her Father and seeks him diligently.
She reconciles that knowledge of her Father bears faith.
In her faith has engendered great patience.
She reckons that is the way of her Father,
She treads it. She does not tire.

She knows her Father, and seeks him diligently.
Her reward is a garland of wisdom that graces her head.
Discretion and love are her chaperones.
She reckons that is the way of her Father,
She treads it. She does not tire.

When she walks, the glory of her Father lights her path.
When she speaks, she is gentle,
When she is silent, she speaks loudly.
She scours knowledge and understanding,
She reckons that is the way of her Father,
She treads it. She does not tire.

In years past, she walked with a throng of friends,
But one after another, they left her for their grooms.
Many a friend hurled insults at her,
“Your God has forsaken you! Your God has forsaken you!”
“You are a pretender”
They mocked her in their folly

Yet she knew her Father. And waited on him in his temple.
He took delight in her, and
returned to her in his perfect time.
But with what reward? A great one, I say.

Yeah, in her, the proverbs are true that say
A man who finds a woman finds a good life, and
Obtains favor. But of you?
I say, Favor is your name!

When you drink from blessed wells,
When children fill your house,
When you’re called blessed and highly favored,
Never forget your Father who has favored you mightily,
May your days be prosperous,
May they be filled with unbridled love.
