Several years ago, I decided to search scriptures to discover what attributes define the image of Christ that as a Christian I was supposed to grow into. I did this for my personal growth and to teach students that were coming through Servants University, where I taught missions. That work has resulted in the following:
- The seven core practices and three mindsets remembered by the mnemonic PRAISE GOD,
- The five attributes of a servant (LOVE), and
- The seven qualities of authentic character (CHRIST).
Below, I share the seven attributes of an authentic character remembered by the acrostic CHRIST.
- Compassion
- Humility
- Respect and Reverence–Respect people, Revere God.
- Integrity (includes being sincere/honest).
- Surrender & Sacrifice
- Trust / Faith
- CHRIST (a heart formed after the heart of Christ)
