Technologies for online courses

  1. Video. Video Lessons can be Screen recording with audio or regular recording with teacher in front of the Camera. All videos must be HD. Weekly introductory videos cannot be screen recordings.
  2. Audio. Audio lessons may be rarely used to complement the weekly reading material.
  3. PowerPoint slides (or equivalent). Should be made before video records unless the teacher intends to simply speak into the Camera without a presentation to guide it. In that case, discuss with the SU course development guide.
  4. Skype. May be used for meetings with students.
  5. Google Hangout. May also be used for meetings with students.

Faculty may also use other forms of technology. They should share with the dean their intentions for approval.

Videos may be put on DVD or jump drive and sent to the college for dissemination to students.

Besides equipping the students in the subject matter at hand, every course should be designed in such a way that the glory of God is revealed to the students producing worship, surrender, fear of God, and obedience to God–a high view of God. All wisdom that comes from God exalts and glorifies Him. When it cuts, God is glorified in the cutting and when it heals, God is glorified in the healing, when it comforts, God is glorified as well.
