Having faith in God is the ONLY way to walk the Christian walk. Here are some scriptures I have compiled that can be used for meditation to build faith in God.
- “With God all things are possible.” Matt 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 1:37; Luke 18:27; Jer. 32:27; Gen 18:14
- “All things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23; Matt. 21:21-22; Mark 11:23-24
- “For we walk by faith, not by sight” 2 Cor 5:7; Heb 10:38;Â Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Gal 3:11; 2 Cor. 1:24; 2 Cor. 4:18; Gal 2:20;
- Faith is beholding Jesus. Heb 11:27;
- Faith defined. Heb 11:1-26
I will be adding to these verses, so you may want to bookmark this page. I have found that in my own life, when I start getting frustrated in my Christian work or feeling unproductive, it’s usually because I am walking by sight and not by faith. Many times, I start something by faith (by hearing God’s voice) and then a few days or weeks later, I will start evaluating the results by sight. When the two don’t match, frustration, anger, and a desire to quit rush in and overwhelm me. Sometimes, I have even grown bitter. But something that Jesus said rings true when this happens — He said “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God.” Matt 22:29. That’s so true. And for every Christian those are the only sources of error that causes us to act wrongly. 1) We don’t know the scriptures, and 2) We don’t know the power of God–i.e. the sovereignty of God. All true faith comes from knowing these two things. The scriptures give us God’s promises and assurance and teach us God’s character (his faithfulness, love, justice etc) on which we can stand. The power of God to fulfill these promises gives us the confidence to believe him. And all true or living faith has works to it. James said faith without works is dead. And so by knowing God’s promises and knowing his power and character to fulfill them, we begin to produce works of righteousness that glorify God.
