All of life is a ministry. A website or blog can help that ministry.

In today’s world, a website or blog is absolutely necessary for the success of  any organization or individual work that is aimed at impacting a larger audience. It doesn’t matter how small or big you want your organization to be, you need  to have a website!

Why start a Website for Your Organization or Ministry Work

Here are some reasons why you need to have a website for your nonprofit organization:

  1. It provides exposure for your work and helps you connect with people you need to help the work go on. Sometimes, the website will bring others to come and benefit from your nonprofit organization’s work.
  2. It allows you to inspire, empower, and connect with people all over the world. There is no single tool that exists at this point that can connect people as easily as the internet and social media. A website or blog helps individuals and organizations harness that power.
  3. It allows you to add value to the global community. By inspiring, empowering, and connecting, a website allows you to add values to people all over the world.
  4. It allows you to tell your story. Every person and every organization is a story that needs to be told so that the world can be impacted and made better because of it. A website or blog allows you to do that than anything else.
  5. Generate support for causes you are interested in. Having a website is like having your own TV or radio show. Your readers are your audience. Even when you don’t start an organization that is doing something you are passionate about, you can use your website or blog every now and then to rally support for something you care about. E.g. bloggers who care about orphans may advertise orphan care organizations they trust to their audience.
  6. It is a source of information for the public that never sleeps. Your website is like a brochure that can be handled to a limitless number of people without the cost of printing and without killing any trees. It’s always up 24hrs per day even when your team is sleeping. Also, unlike a brochure, it is very easy to edit and update material on your website.
  7. It makes it easy for people to find and contact you or your organization.  With an online presence, people can find and contact you from anywhere in the world. Through our website, Shaping Destiny, people have contacted us from different parts of the world. Some we haven’t met before. We’ve gotten checks in the mail from people who’ve visited the site.
  8. It can help you to make some money to support yourself or your passion. Some people make a full-time income all through blogging. While making money with a blog is hard work, it’s also very low risk. It’s inexpensive, easy, and based completely on you.
  9. It saves you lots of money on advertising costs. A website builds you an audience, with little effort, that it will be very costly to build otherwise.
  10. Fundraising: It helps you build the kinds of relationships that are helpful with fundraising for your organization’s needs.
  11. It helps you get published.  Nowadays, publishers rarely work with writers who don’t have an online presence. Why? Well, it’s a lot easier to sell books to people who already know you. A blog is one of the easiest and most personal ways to start.
  12. It’s extremely inexpensive and easy to create. One would think that for something with the above advantages it should be difficult and expensive to create, right? No. It actually very cheap.

Do any of these resonate with you? Can you see how a blog would be a great benefit for you and your organization? Well then let’s get started! I will show you how to start a blog for your organization.
